My wife, my daughter, and I decided to visit our friends, Keith and Amanda Bruce and their kids, in Chattanooga today. My wife used to work with Keith and it was good for her to get to catch up with what he has been doing since moving to Chattanooga.
In the late morning, we visited the Chattanooga Aquarium. One of the things that I like about the aquarium is that they break the exhibits into small areas so you are always experiencing new things every time you turn a corner. Each area is its own learning experience. Today, I found myself looking forward to what I was going to see and learn in the next area of the aquarium.
I believe that you need to offer the same experience to your customers. Most public accounting companies only want to produce financial statements and prepare taxes. I believe that my clients want more, which is why I offer CFO and management advisory services. This allows me to tailor my services to meet the needs of my clients.
You can do the same, no matter what industry you are in. Just ask your customers what services, products, or offerings they would like to receive from your company that they are not currently receiving. The positive response from your customers may surprise you once you begin to implement their suggestions.
